My Marvelous Mom

This was written in 1981. I was about eight years old. I think. So please forgive the attempt at humor.

Thirty-five years agon in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico, the best mom in the world was born. Yes, on July 24, __ my mom was Angelica was borm. Life started out pretty ordinary. She attended Ysleta High School and went on to UTEP college. then instead of marrying Charleston Heston (I was a big fan of "Dynasty" and the "Colbys" at the time.) She married my dad. On ____, a wonderful event took place. I was born. That started my mom's career as a marvelous mommy!
I can always count on my mom to help me with my homework. All day long she works at home and at night she takes us shopping. She is very happy when I make my bed. My mom didn't even get too upset when I almost lost my shoe.
Mom's favorite color is white and she likes to watch "Keystone Cops" on television. To relax and have fun, my mom likes to sew, paint, draw and have indoor plants. If I had the money I needed, I would...(missing sentence). . .Secret and take her out to eat at Red Lobster. I would also clean the potty for a month. Oh, I'd also be sure to say, "Mom, you're the greatest and I love you!" XOXOXOXOXOX
